The Mandala
Our logo is the mandala. Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means “circle”. The circle plays a very important role in our world, as it appears in many aspects of our lives-the Earth, Sun, Moon and the circles of life encompassing friends, family and communities.
The famous psychiatrist Carl Jung used mandalas in his practice, as he believed that the mandala is a “psychological expression of the totality of the self”. Mandalas are traditionally used in many eastern spiritual traditions as a tool to aid meditation. In western culture, mandalas are used for stress relief and meditation.
Oftentimes, we have trouble tuning out what is going on in our daily lives. Mandalas can help us tune out our stressors and allow ourselves to find our center and to become more connected with the universe around us.
The lotus flower at the heart of our mandala also has meaning. A lotus
flower symbolizes rebirth and awakening. The lotus flower starts as a small
bud at the bottom of dark, murky pond. It slowly grows to the water’s
surface, moving toward the light. It eventually blossom into a beautiful
flower.
